Encourage ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered health check-in service ("Service"), including our website, SMS messaging, and Telegram bot features.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you create a caregiver account
  • Relative information: name, phone number, Telegram chat ID, and timezone of relatives you enroll in the Service
  • Check-in preferences: scheduling, messaging channel, and personalization settings

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Conversation data: messages exchanged between the AI agent and your relatives during check-ins (including text content and any photos shared)
  • Health data: when a Fitbit account is connected, we collect step counts, resting heart rate, sleep duration, sleep quality scores, and SpO2 readings
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interactions with the dashboard

2.3 SMS and Phone Number Data

When you enable SMS check-ins, we collect and store the phone number(s) you provide. We use this information solely to deliver check-in messages through our SMS provider (Twilio). Phone numbers are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes, sold, or used for any purpose other than delivering the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver scheduled AI-powered health check-ins via SMS or Telegram

  • Send alerts to caregivers when health metrics indicate potential concerns
  • Maintain and improve the Service
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. SMS Communications

We use Twilio to send and receive SMS messages. When the SMS channel is enabled:

  • Messages are sent only for the purpose of health check-ins and service notifications
  • Message frequency depends on the check-in schedule configured by the caregiver
  • Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier
  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message
  • Reply HELP for support information

We do not use phone numbers or SMS for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and message content are never sold to or shared with third parties.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use third-party services to operate the platform, including Twilio (SMS delivery), OpenAI (AI conversation generation), Fitbit (health data), and Telegram (messaging). These providers receive only the data necessary to perform their specific function.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Safety: We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to protect the health or safety of any person.

6. Health Data

Health data collected through Fitbit integrations is treated with extra care:

  • Health data is used only to personalize check-in conversations and generate wellness tips
  • Health data is shared only with the caregiver who set up the check-in and with our AI service provider to generate responses
  • Health data is never sold or used for advertising purposes
  • You can disconnect Fitbit at any time from the caregiver dashboard

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Conversation history and health data are retained to provide context for future check-ins. When you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except as required by law.
